I hope you had a blessed week! Can you believe it’s December already? The holiday season is upon us, and that means it’s the perfect time to share the love of Jesus with those around us. For some of us it’s a time to celebrate one of the most incredible events in history: the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. As we dive into this festive month, let’s take a moment to pause and remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Christmas is all about hope, joy, love, and peace. Not because of the consumer side of things but because it’s another opportunity to lift Jesus up. It’s easy to get caught up in the shopping, decorating, and planning, but let’s not forget the ultimate gift we’re celebrating—the Incarnation of Jesus. God with us! What an amazing reminder of how much God loves each and every one of us.
The theme of, "God with us" is such a comforting truth. It means that no matter where we are or what we’re going through, we are never alone. Jesus came to share in our joys and our struggles, reminding us that His presence is with us every step of the way. This Christmas let’s lean into that promise and share that love with others.
This season let’s really focus on keeping Jesus at the centre of our celebrations. It’s not just about the nativity scenes or the carols (although those are great!). It’s about following His example in our lives, showing love to those around us, and extending grace and kindness wherever we can. After all, that’s what Jesus taught us!
As we gather with family and friends and embark on our various holiday activities, let’s make it a point to live out His teachings. Whether it's lending a hand to a neighbour, sharing meals with those in need, or simply spreading goodwill, let’s remind everyone around us of the love Christ offers.
So, here’s wishing you and your family a joyful and blessed festive season. May this month be filled with laughter, love, and a deeper connection to our Lord. Let’s make some beautiful memories together!
This Saturday at church, we’ll have a special Christmas program during our worship time, and it's being run by our kids! So, come on over and join us for a time of worship and fellowship, and let’s cheer on our children as they share their gifts with us!
Hope to see you all soon!
Be blessed, David Peñate
