Sabbath Blessings, Church Family

As we come to the end of another week, we’re reminded of God’s invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with Him and with one another. What a blessing the Sabbath Day is. Not merely a break from our busy schedules, but a sacred space to reorient our hearts around what matters most: our relationship with Him and each other.

I want to take a moment to pause and reflect on the beautiful messages that was shared last weekend by Pastor Mark Pearce. What a gift it was to get another insight to the life and ministry of Ellen White, a woman who—with Jesus at the very centre of her life—was influenced by God to shine a light on His love for the world. She humbly and courageously allowed the Holy Spirit to lead her, to speak to her, and to shape her life. What a powerful example for us today.

We were reminded that the foundation of our belief isn’t just doctrine or tradition, but the living reality that God is love. Everything else flows from that truth. Let’s encourage each other to turn to the Word of God with fresh eyes to read—not just for information, but for transformation. To seek God’s character in its pages and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, shape us, and reveal more of Jesus to us.

As we prepare for Sabbath, may we open our hearts to the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit. He still speaks. He still guides. He still comforts, convicts, and calls us deeper into the love of Jesus.

Allow yourself to take some time alone, with your friends or family to rest and worship. Seek God’s presence together and listen for his voice. Let this be your prayer: “Lord, open my heart to Your Spirit. Make me sensitive to Your voice. Help me to see You more clearly and follow You more boldly.”

Imagine what our church family could continue to grow towards if we all lived that prayer. What would it look like if we truly allowed the Spirit to lead us—individually and together?

Let’s all slow down enough this week to listen.

God bless you all,  Malin Andersen
