As we enter this Sabbath and prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day, I find myself reflecting on the beautiful ways God reveals His love. So often revealed through the steady presence, selfless sacrifice, and deep strength of the mothers and mother figures in our lives.
Whether you are a mother, a grandmother, an aunty, a spiritual mother, or someone who simply nurtures others with care and compassion—thank you. Your selfless acts of service, your silent prayers, and your unwavering presence point us to the heart of God. You reflect His faithfulness, His tenderness, and His fierce love.
Mother’s Day is also a time to pause and honour the complexity of motherhood. For some, this day brings joy and gratitude; for others, it carries grief, longing, or loss. As a church family, let’s hold space for all of that. Let's offer each other the same grace, patience, and gentleness that Jesus offers us every day. Let’s take time to honour the women and mothers in our lives, not just with words, gifts, and flowers, but with deep appreciation for the love they quietly pour out day after day. Come together as a family also to embrace those whom this day carries pain and surround them with extra compassion and care.
To every woman in our church family—whether you mother through raising children, mentoring others, caring for family, or simply offering a listening ear—you are a gift. Thank you for everything you do. Your love makes a difference for eternity. Your faith shapes generations. Your presence matters more than you know.
To every man in our church family: Thank you for reflecting God’s strength and love, as you encourage and value the women and mothers around you. Thank you for honouring their courage, notice their sacrifices and celebrate their faith. Let’s continue to build strong, Christ-centred relationships, growing together in love, shaped by His grace and sacrifice.
May this Sabbath be a sacred pause. Whether you arrive to this day with joy, weariness, or longing, may you feel seen by the One who knows you completely and loves you endlessly. You are part of a family rooted in grace. As we honour the women among us, may our hearts grow more tender, our faith more anchored, and our love more like Christ’s.
Wishing you a Sabbath full of peace, joy, and the quiet assurance that you are deeply loved by God and by your church family.
Be blessed, Malin Andersen
