The greatest need in the life of Jesus’ followers, is the need for genuine, biblical, spirit-led, and heartfelt revival. The need to love God and people, the need of appreciating God’s holiness, the need for a renewed passion for God’s word and His church and a convicting awareness of our personal brokenness and the need for Jesus’ grace in our lives. Revival can only occur when we allow self to die, and we invite Christ to live in us. Jesus promised us that He would give us the Holy Spirit. More than ever before, do we need the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit is allowed to direct, lead, and convict—great things happen.
Our “10 Days of Prayer” has been focusing on our need to reconnect with God. Each day has been an invitation to go back to the altar of worship. I hope that as we have been participating in our week of prayer, we have felt the call to reconnect our hearts with Jesus, to consecrate our lives, to live in the presence of God and to deliberately seek God. Revival occurs when we humble our hearts and seek God with all our mind, heart, and soul. Revival takes residence when we encounter God—as the 10 days of prayer booklet puts it, “when we rebuild our Altar”. Does your altar need rebuilding? Do you need to reconnect you heart with God? Do you need revival? The scripture says, “Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, where are you?” God is calling you today!
