After a couple of weeks away, it is good to be back. Although it’s great to be back home, I must admit that I do miss the experience of Big Camp. There’s nothing better than spending time with God’s people in fellowship and worship. If you attended Big Camp this year, I hope that you were greatly blessed and are looking forward to camping again next year.
To be honest, Big Camp reminds me of the Israelites - the Israelites that the Bible talks about - the Israelites that the book of Exodus tells us about - the Israelites that camped and journeyed for a very long time - they too were on a journey, traveling to the Promised Land. When they camped along the way, they set up a tabernacle as a place of worship and a reminder of God's presence with them. It was a time of fellowship and worshipping together as well. There's something special about experiencing God with other followers of Jesus. It’s not only about experiencing God's goodness and grace but also the Holy Spirit.
What a joy it is to be part of a community of believers who are experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit! There is truly something special about coming together with other followers of Jesus and feeling the presence of God among us. Perhaps you have experienced this power in your own life recently, through prayer, reading of scripture, or simply spending time in the presence of other believers. Maybe you have been part of a group prayer session that left you feeling renewed and refreshed or have witnessed the spiritual growth of someone else in your community.
Whatever the case may be, we are grateful for the ways that the Holy Spirit is moving among our community. It is our prayer that this power will continue to transform and shape us, making us more like Christ and more effective in sharing His love with others. If you haven't yet experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in your life, we encourage you to seek Him out. Talk to other believers, read the Bible, and spend time in prayer asking for the Spirit's guidance. May we all continue to grow in our faith and in our connection to one another through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit moves in powerful ways, whether it be in the quiet and privacy of your own home, at Big Camp, at church or at school - the Spirit is moving. And He has moved in the lives of four young people who will give their lives to Jesus through baptism on the 7th of October. So please, come and share this special day with them and bring plenty of food to share for our combined fellowship lunch after the baptisms.
Be blessed, David Peñate
