I hope you’ve had a blessed week and are looking forward to the weekend. As followers of Christ, we are called to live a biblical life, rooted in the teachings of Jesus, even amidst the prevailing culture of our day. The world around us often veers away from God's Word, making it increasingly challenging to remain faithful. However, we find encouragement and strength in knowing that we are not alone in this journey. Together, let us explore ways to navigate this path, with practical counsel to guide us.

Consider an oak tree, standing tall amidst a bustling city. The tree's roots extend deep into the soil, anchoring it firmly. Its branches sway with the wind, but the strength of its roots ensures stability. Just as the oak tree relies on its roots, we too must build strong foundations to withstand the cultural pressures we face. Therefore friends, dive into Scripture: The Bible is our compass, pointing us in the right direction. Regularly engage in Bible study, meditating on God's Word and seeking His wisdom. Let the Bible be our guide as we navigate through the complexities of our culture.

Secondly, cultivate prayer and worship. Developing a strong prayer life keeps us connected to God's heart. Set aside regular times of prayer, both individually and corporately, to seek God's will and find strength in His presence. Worship allows us to focus on God's goodness and greatness, reminding us of our true allegiance. Thirdly, surround yourself with Community. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Engage in fellowship with believers who inspire and challenge you to live a biblical life. Share joys, struggles, and experiences as we encourage one another to remain steadfast in our faith.

Lastly, be a light in the darkness. Our culture needs the hope and love of Christ. Living a biblical life is not just for our benefit but for the transformation of those around us. Let our actions, words, and attitudes exhibit Jesus' love and grace, shining brightly in the darkness of our world.

Imagine being on a boat, surrounded by tumultuous waves, with nothing but stormy skies overhead. In that moment, Jesus stands before you, extending His hand and saying, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." (Matthew 14:27). When we live a biblical life devoted to Jesus, we are not alone in the stormy sea of our culture. With Jesus as our anchor, we have the security and peace we need, no matter what drifts around us.

Church family, let us continually strive to live a biblical life devoted to Jesus amid the culture of our day. Together, let us deepen our roots, seek God's guidance, and encourage one another in this pilgrimage. Our steadfastness in the Word will not only shape our lives but also inspire and impact those around us. May we be a beacon of light in a world that desperately needs to see Christ's love.

In Christ's love,
David Peñate
