I hope you’ve had a blessed week. This Sabbath, we have the awesome opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the Lord's Supper, also known as Communion. This sacred ritual is a time for us to reflect on our relationship with Jesus and express our gratitude for his ultimate sacrifice.

Before we gather for Communion, I would like to encourage you to take some time to prepare your hearts and minds. Here are a few suggestions:

Firstly, take time to examine your heart and seek God's guidance. Reflect on areas where you may have strayed from His will and invite Him to forgive and guide you. This is not about beating yourself up over past mistakes, but rather about recognising God's grace and mercy in your life.

Secondly, take the opportunity to reconcile with others. Whether it's forgiving those who have wronged you or seeking forgiveness from someone you have wronged, this is a chance to experience the power of God's forgiveness and extend it to others.

Thirdly, take a moment to pause and reflect on the significance of Jesus' sacrifice. Read about His death and resurrection in scripture (such as Psalms 22, Isaiah 53, Mark 15:21-29, John 19, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, or Philippians 2:1-11) and remember the promise of eternal life that He offers.

Fourthly, pray for a fresh spiritual experience during our Communion service. Thank God for His goodness, faithfulness, and forgiveness, and ask that this time be a blessing in your life.

Lastly, join us this Sabbath as we gather around the table to celebrate the Lord's Supper. Take part in this beautiful ritual and praise God for all He has done for us.

I invite you all to come with prepared hearts and minds this Sabbath. Let us celebrate together the love and redemption offered by our Saviour.

May God bless you, David Peñate
