I hope this message finds you filled with peace and joy in the Lord! As we reflect on the life and mission of our church, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our outstanding Social Committee and all those who played a part in the cake auction this past Saturday night. It was truly a magnificent event and a wonderful success, thanks to your hard work and dedication! The variety of cakes, the warm fellowship, and the spirit of generosity culminated in an evening that celebrated not just our culinary talents but also our community bond. Your efforts have helped raise funds for our church outreach projects to Mt Diamond while ensuring everyone had a splendid time. Thank you for your commitment and creativity - you have made a difference!

As we look ahead to this upcoming Sabbath, we have even more reason to celebrate: the baptisms of five incredible young people from our church. Baptism is a profound declaration of faith, a symbol of new life in Christ, and an important step in their spiritual journeys. It represents their commitment to follow Jesus and the dedication of their lives to God’s service. These five young individuals have taken the courageous step to publicly proclaim their faith, embracing the Holy Spirit's work in their hearts. Let us celebrate their decisions with joy and thanksgiving, recognising that this is not merely an event for our church family, but a moment of divine significance. Our church community is not only witnesses to their commitment but also part of their spiritual support system. It is our responsibility and privilege to encourage and uplift them as they continue their walk with Christ.

Moreover, we must remember that this momentous occasion is not just an event on Earth; it echoes throughout the heavens! In Luke 15:10, we are reminded, “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” This scripture powerfully illustrates that Heaven rejoices when anyone chooses to follow Christ. So, as Janaya, Christian, Chloe, Caleb and Micah step into the waters of baptism, we can be sure that all of Heaven is celebrating alongside us!

I encourage each of you to come to worship with open hearts and spirits filled with praise. Let us gather together as a loving community, celebrating the joy of their new beginnings. We will share in their stories, witness their baptisms, and pray for them as they embark on this transformative journey. Your presence will make this occasion even more special, as we together encourage them to grow in their faith and remain steadfast in their commitments to God.

As we prepare for this sacred occasion, let us also reflect on our own journeys of faith. May we be inspired by these young people and rekindle our own commitment to pursue Christ wholeheartedly. Together, let us lift each other up in prayer, community, and love. And remember, we have combined potluck lunch after the baptisms, so please bring plenty of food to share with one another.

God bless you all, and I cannot wait to celebrate this joyous occasion with each of you this Sabbath!

In Christ’s love,  David Peñate
