Happy Sabbath church family,
This week we want to send a huge thank you and warm greetings from Alan and the team in PNG. Although their flight was a little delayed, the group arrived safely at Mt Diamond last Monday and have quickly settled into the work. Over the past week they have been busy restoring buildings, installing shade cloth, building a water tower, completing painting projects, and even cementing a pad for future improvements. The team has also been making trips into town to collect supplies, including a water tank, steel for the clinic stand, and of course more paint after running out!
They report that one of the greatest blessings of the trip has been seeing people of all ages working side by side. From the builders and tradespeople to the cooks who have been doing an incredible job keeping everyone well fed, each person has played an important role. Beyond the physical work, the team has been building relationships with the local community, spending time with the children after school, on Sabbath, and in the evenings, as well as enjoying opportunities to explore the beautiful surroundings together.
Pr Greg has also been sharing God's love during the school's Week of Worship, which has been a blessing for both our team and the Mt Diamond community. He has been preaching, visiting classrooms, and spending time with students to build meaningful connections. He also had the opportunity to visit PAU this week, which was a big blessing.
Alan has a reflection he wanted to share with the whole church family: "This project would not have been possible without teamwork." He said that just as every person has contributed to the success of this project, the same is true in our church. When we work together, using the gifts God has given each of us, we can accomplish far more than we ever could alone. They are highly appreciative of all the support before and during the trip, and want to thank everyone for all the prayers as they keep God at the centre of their mission trip.
Please continue to keep Alan, and the entire team in your prayers as they serve, encourage, and share God's love at Mt Diamond.
Blessings, Malin Andersen
