What a beautiful week it has been—the second week of spring has given us not only lovely weather but also a real sense of renewal and joy. There’s something about the fresh air, the blossoms, and the sunshine that makes us more aware of God’s goodness. And as I’ve looked back on the week we’ve shared together, I’m so grateful for the many ways God has been present in our church family.

Last Sunday was one of those moments to treasure. Our Father’s Day celebration was such a blessing! From the car show to the arrival of “Bubsie”—that remarkable car that circled Australia 100 years ago—to the sausage sizzle, the jumping castle, Adventurers, and face painting, the day had something for everyone. What stood out most wasn’t just the activities, but the spirit of joy and togetherness. It was a day to celebrate and honour the fathers and father-figures who mean so much to our families. Thank you to everyone who gave of their time, energy, and heart to make it possible—from those setting up early, to the welcome team, to those cooking, serving, and packing down at the end. Days like this remind us of the strength of our church family: when we serve together, we create space for community to flourish.

We’ve also been encouraged this week by our newly started Mums and Bubs group. Already it has been a blessing to see young mums from our neighbourhood come along with their little ones for play, conversation, and connection. Sometimes the simplest gatherings can have the greatest impact, and we believe this ministry will continue to grow into a beautiful way of supporting families, sharing God’s love, and building relationships. Thank you to every mum and female volunteer who has stepped up to make this possible—you are planting seeds of connection and faith that are already making a difference.

Thank you also to everyone who prays for the ministries happening across our church. And thank you to every volunteer who gives their time to serve for a greater purpose, in whatever ministry you are part of. We see and appreciate your big hearts for God and for people.

So as we step into this Sabbath, I encourage you to think not only about the conversations we share within our church family, but also about the people God has placed around you—in your street, your workplace, or your everyday routines. When was the last time you prayed with a neighbour? Or asked someone outside these walls about their story, their hopes, or their journey with God? Small acts of kindness and genuine curiosity can open doors that remind people they are seen, valued, and loved.
Let’s embrace the opportunities this week to carry God’s presence into our community—to encourage, to listen, and to serve. May this Sabbath remind us that church isn’t just a family we belong to, but a mission we live out—together, walking with Jesus every step of the way.

With blessings and love,  Malin Andersen
